#22 – Katniss-Alyst

We are back, everybody! The lack of news this week is made up by great listener mail, clever (or not) Hunger Games word play, and an extremely trippy HRock selection. In Chapter Chat, we discuss Ch. 3 and 4 of Catching Fire, and the HRock segment gets a new twist. Enjoy!

I think it’s really awesome that you’re going to let us listeners also choose some songs for HRock! Finally :)
    Great podcast as always!
I really got the feeling of being stung by some Tracker Jackers while listening to that song, gross feeling! :S
Could you guys do “In the Arena” next time?? To say it in thewords of Effie: I just love that ;)

Hey this is an awesome podcast. You guys always hate on Gale though, which isnt bad, you have your own opinions, but I like gale. Better than Peeta, in fact. I can see why katniss would choose Peeta, as she explains near the end, she doesn’t need gales fire. She has enought fire on her own. She needs peeta’s peacefullness. Like a dandelion. But in my opinion gale is better and I like him more because he would die for and fight for the cause. He will not give up just to be with someone. He knows what’s important and will do anything for it. He did not kill prim, but even if he had, how would you explain that to your best friend? ‘Um..by the way I’m really sorry but I killed your sister.’ No.

    Thanks, awesome podcast

    Hey rebels!
I googled “Cinna” and aside from getting alot of hunger games stuff, i learned something really interesting! There was a man in ancient rome named Lucius Cornelius Cinna (his father has the exact same name, dont get them mixed up) who had a small non-active part of the assasination of Julius Ceasar. And Cinna in the hunger games, played a small part in the assasination of Snow. There was also a Plutarch in ancient Rome, associated with Lucius Cornelius Snow Sr. Makes me feel smart!! :)
I’m working on that song called “Poster Girl”!
Here is some of what i’ve got:
I’ve set fire to my dress/ I’m such a giggling, glittery, violent mess/ so i just stand there smile and twirl/ i dont know but i’m the rebel’s Poster Girl
    OH MY GOSH!!!
Hurley! You’ve GOT to sing “Call Me Maybe”!!!(high five Elena!!)
My official request is that Hurley sing “Eye of the Tiger” :P
I’m so glad you are finally doing a fanHRock!!
I’ve had this idea FOREVER and i was just waiting for you to use it!
May i suggest your next “in the Arena” competitors? Glimmer and Clove.
Okay, now im done. Keep rebeling and may the odds be ever in your favor,
    Katniss12
Ps, Alex! You have turned me into an un-official Neutral Milk Hotel fan!
And you’ve got me hooked on Lux Aeterna! Thnxs!!

  1. Hey you guys. I’m kind of new In this rebellion, but first I wanted to tell you that you guys are GREAT!
Second, Now that you mentioned the moment when Snow visits Katniss in the victors village, I wanted to rant a little.
Snow’s breath is bothering to Katniss, and whoever read the while trilogy knows why. In order to disguise the blod other he had to keep roses around him at all time.
Every reader had to wait a whole trilogy to know where these special (and quite creepy) roses came from. But everyone who went to see the movie found out in one hour and what, thirty minutes?!
I’m sorry that you had to read this, I just wat to know if anyone else got mad at that like me.

Now that you mention it, I’m quite mad about that myself. I mean us readers had to wait until the END of Mockingjay to find out and the “hey, this looks like a cool movie, but I hat books so I won’t bother to read them” type of people just find out. And at that point in the story the whole rose garden thing doesn’t seem so important. That’s why it’s in Mockingjay and NOT THG…
Anyways, Welcome to the rebellion :D !

Okay Hurley, here is my song called Poster Girl:
I’ve set fire to my dress/ I’m such a giggling, glittery, violent mess/ so I just stand there, smile and twirl/ I don’t know but I’m the rebel’s Poster Girl
The trees are falling down around me/ the fire is burning, my heart is pounding/ I run, the Capitol watches/ the rebels wait with thier plans and weapons/ waiting for the Poster Girl
I can’t kill him, he won’t kill me/ I take out the nightlock berries/ maybe we can both get out/ the announcer says stop, the trumpets sound/ we’ve done it, we can both live/ but it comes with a price, the rebellion begins
They want me to be the Mockingjay/ I’m just trying to survive the day/ maybe if they get Peeta back safe/ then I’ll be the Poster Girl
I stand here surrounded by cameras and fog/ in the suit Cinna made me/ I am the Mockingjay/ I say the line but something’s not right/ I just don’t know what to think/ I’ve become the Poster Girl
I ready my arrow, aim for the rose/ his words ring in my ears/ I’ll be honest, Remember the enemy/ I shift the bow, let the arrow go/ I won’t be your Poster Girl

Okay, actually this might be better as a poem, and i might have kind of over-used the phrase “Poster Girl”, but anyway, here it is.
May the odds be ever in your favor!
