#32 – Fried Force Field Food

Great episode you guys! Good to have you back, but I totally understand your need of a break.
Anyway, I like the new segment. It is really weird to think of how things could have gone differently had Katniss been a boy… A lot more things would have changed than you would think. I don’t think I would have personally liked the book as much. Not that I have anything against male protagonists, but I think there is a level of her anger, love, determination, and hatred that only a woman could have portrayed. I mean, lets be honest, us girls tend to make a lot of molehills into mountains, and when the problem really is a mountain, we make it into Barad-dur. I think Katniss’s womanly instinct of blowing things out of proportion helped with the rebellion and her hatred toward the Capitol (although, the Capitol was so freakishly bad, that there were many times when she reacted just fine to what they were doing.)
Also, I really can’t picture Gale and Peeta as women… like, at all. So, I am pretty much stuck there.

Hey guys!
So when you were reading Chapter Chat, your description of the scene when Peeta runs into the force field wasn’t very accurate.
In the book, the group is walking, with Peeta in front, then Finnick, then Katniss. Katniss sees the small shimmering “chink” right before Peeta walks into the force field, not realizing there was any barrier.
He is electrocuted, and blown back by the force field. He is unconcious because of the electricity.
His heart was stopped, and he was not breathing, so if Finnick had not performed CPR, Peeta would have died.

I’m sooo happy you guys are back! Anyway, I don’t think I would have bought the books if Katniss were a guy, because she was kind of like a role model to me when I first read it. You know, the whole fighting for what she believes in eventhough she has sooo many problems. I guess I would not have been able to relate at all with a “Kevin”. And I think the love triangle between “Kevin”, “Patricia” and “Gabrielle” would have become a much bigger part of the story, which obviously ruins the purpose.
